SUMMARY:

The Instructional Aide is responsible for providing instructional assistance to teachers in a classroom setting as well as monitoring and providing support to students during non-academic times (e.g. arrival/dismissal times, breaks, lunch).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist teachers with implementation and instruction of curriculum under the teacher's direct or indirect supervision, including academic programs for students. Coordinate with and assist teachers in the making and gathering of materials and resources for instruction (i.e. making copies, getting supplies and books ready, etc.). Assist teachers with observing, monitoring, and recording students' progress. Provide classroom instruction to students as a substitute teacher in the absence of a teacher as needed. Be knowledgeable of Arizona State Standards and insure these are maintained. Provides input on the selection of instructional materials and resources. Supervise students during required duty times, including non-academic times (e.g. breaks, lunch, detention, etc.), and assure their safety in the school. In conjunction with Administration and teachers, monitor recess, arrival, and dismissal times. Enforce rules and provide appropriate response to student misconduct in a safe and respectful manner. May be responsible for lunch set up and dispersal including assisting with cleanup of lunchroom in between lunch sessions and after lunch. Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings as communicated by Administration throughout the year. Be knowledgeable of and implement PLC Charter Schools' policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Principal.
