Experience assisting in instruction of children, adolescents, and/or young adults who are English learners and at-promise or incarcerated youth is desired. All candidates must pass a test of bilingual proficiency in oral and written Spanish. Candidates must pass the LACOE written test of ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics. Candidates must successfully complete the LACOE Paraeducator Workshop after passing the written test. (This requirement is not required of current LACOE Paraeducators or former Paraeducators eligible for re-employment.) Some positions in this classification may require travel and the availability of private transportation.
