03694 Description The Program Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the Public Interest Law Program at CSU-Fullerton. This role is critical to the successful execution of program initiatives, including student pro bono opportunities, public interest career advising, fellowship and scholarship administration, and community outreach. The Program Assistant will serve as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, and external partners, ensuring smooth program operations and contributing to the program's mission of fostering legal professionals dedicated to social justice. •Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding or new Grant/Contract.
Essential Duties Administrative Support:
Manage correspondence, schedule meetings, and maintain calendars for program faculty and staff. Prepare and edit program documents, reports, presentations, and promotional materials. Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for program records, student applications, and historical data. Order and maintain office supplies and program materials. Other duties as assigned.
Event and Program Coordination:
Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of program events, including workshops, speaker series, networking events, and an annual public interest law conference. Coordinate logistics for events, including venue reservations, catering, A/V equipment, and guest speaker arrangements. Manage event registration and attendee communication. Other duties as assigned.
Student Support and Outreach:
Serve as a primary point of contact for student inquiries related to public interest law opportunities, events, and resources. Assist in the dissemination of information about pro bono projects, externships, fellowships, and job opportunities. Maintain and update program websites and social media channels with relevant information. Support student organizations affiliated with public interest law. Other duties as assigned.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain and update program databases, including student participation, alumni tracking, and pro bono hours. Generate reports on program activities, outcomes, and statistics as requested. Assist with data collection and analysis for program assessment and improvement. Other duties as assigned.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners (e.g., non-profit organizations, government agencies). Collaborate with other university departments and offices as needed to facilitate program goals. Represent the Public Interest Law Program in a professional and courteous manner. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent writing and communication skills. Detail oriented administrative experience. Basic technology skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
EDUCATION
Minimum Bachelor's degree. A degree in pre-law, political science, public administration, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects/material.
