Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Part-Time Before/After School Program Assistant in the South Bay area! This exciting role offers the chance to make a positive impact on children's lives by providing engaging, safe, and nurturing environments before and after school hours. As a Program Assistant, you will support classroom activities, promote social-emotional development, and ensure children's safety while fostering a fun and inclusive atmosphere. This position is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about working with children and dedicated to supporting their growth and well-being. Duties Assist in supervising children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety at all times Support classroom management by helping implement daily activities, routines, and behavior management strategies Engage children in educational games, arts and crafts, sports, theater, or other enrichment activities that promote childhood development Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to monitor children's progress and address individual needs, including those with special education requirements Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow proper procedures for health emergencies Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff by demonstrating excellent communication skills and a caring attitude Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly desirable Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development stages Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or in need of additional support Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously Positive attitude with a passion for nurturing children's growth through engaging activities like sports coaching, babysitting, or theater programs This paid position offers an energizing environment where your enthusiasm can inspire young learners while developing valuable skills in education and child development.
