Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting student achievement by working one-on-one with a learner exhibiting significant behavioral challenges. A contract position is open from April 13, 2026, through June 11, 2026, near Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will provide direct support and implement individualized behavioral interventions under the district's guidance for the remainder of the 25/26 school year.
Key Qualifications:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required Previous experience as a school-based paraprofessional or RBT preferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students exhibiting severe behavioral concerns Strong communication and de-escalation skills Ability to remain calm and adaptive in challenging situations Male candidates are encouraged to apply, in alignment with district-specific needs Must be reliable and able to commit to full-time hours throughout the contract duration
Role Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 support to an assigned student with behavioral needs Assist with implementing individualized education and behavior intervention plans Collaborate closely with special education teams, teachers, and other school staff Use evidenced-based techniques to reduce challenging behaviors and encourage positive outcomes Accurately document daily progress and behavioral incidents Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere Participate in ongoing training and meetings as required Take this chance to make a genuine impact in a student's educational journey within a supportive school environment.
