Job Description

Description St. Mary Magdalen School is seeking a dedicated and caring Instructional Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week, including responsibilities in our after-school program. The Instructional Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, faith-filled, and academically engaging learning environment for students. Working collaboratively with faculty and staff, the Instructional Aide assists with student learning, classroom management, and the overall mission of Catholic education. Support classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher. Assist with the supervision and safety of students throughout the school day. Help create a positive, welcoming, and faith-centered classroom environment. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts. Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization. Support classroom management and promote positive student behavior. Supervise students during recess, lunch, and designated activities as assigned. Provide supervision and support during the after-school program. Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet the needs of students and support school programs. Requirements High school diploma required; associate's degree or college coursework in education preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, students, and families. Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Must successfully complete all diocesan and state requirements, including fingerprinting and Safe Environment training. Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
