Job Description

Overview Hello, Candidates! Chandler's Preschool (CPS) is looking to hire a part-time or full-time teachers assistant(s). This position is Monday-Friday, with an AM & PM shift available. The morning shift would be roughly 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, and the afternoon shift is roughly 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM; alternatively, these can be combined into a full time position based on applicant interest. Beyond this position's metrics, CPS is a three year old Early-Education-Center in Highland Park with a thirty-year history. We aim to be the fertile soil where all children, families, and of course— our educators, can grow to their fullest potential. We have been very fortunate to employ individuals for over ten years, frequently promote within the organization, and even have multiple Alumni on staff. Here is a bit more about the role: Duties Collaborating with the classrooms' Head Teacher to supervise, instruct, and run the daily schedule. Assist Head Teacher in performing art projects, science experiments, and conduct daily 'circle time' learning. Guide students through basic fine motor skills, self-care skills, and self-regulation. Cleaning and tidying throughout the day, this includes: potential diaper changes, disinfecting toys, vacuuming the instruction room, assisting students with toy clean up, etc. Communicating with and updating parents using Bright-Wheel. Receive and discharge students at drop-off and pick-up. Facilitate meal times, nap time, and outside play. Participate in school activities such as holiday festivities, birthdays, staff development days, and team-building. Required Experience Previous experience with children or in a classroom setting (we're flexible on what this may look like for you). Preferred Experience (Not needed to apply) 12-Units of 'Early Childhood Education' Classes. Completion of x3 developmental classes, x1 per age range. For example, x1 Toddler Class, x1 Infant Class, x1 Teen/Family Class Bachelors Degree, or Associates Degree with documented ECE Classes We look forward to speaking and hopefully meeting you, thank you for your time!
