We do this through the work of two divisions: Bridges Academy and The Center for Twice-Exceptional Research and Professional Development (The 2e Center). Bridges Academy, a college preparatory school for Grades 3-12, empowers its students to thrive academically and socially through small classes and differentiated instruction, creating an environment in which gifts are recognized and developed and learning differences and disabilities are accepted. Many students come to Bridges defined by their challenges but graduate defined by their strengths and talents. For the 2026-2027 school year, Bridges Academy is looking for an enthusiastic elementary teaching assistant. Bridges seeks a candidate who loves kids, ideally has some experience working with students in a school, camp, or extracurricular setting, and who is interested in getting more experience supporting students as they pursue a career in teaching. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support students and teacher during class time Prepare and organize instructional materials, assist with grading, manage behavior Supervise students during non-class time (recess, lunch, etc.) Occasional group as well as one-on-one instruction Possibility of co-teaching a specialized class in an area of student interest Chaperone field trips and other excursions/activities Participate in case conferences, as well as division, department, and all-school meetings Required education and experience: An associate's degree or higher Experience working with students age 9-13 A successful candidate will: Develop warm, trusting relationships with students and adults Demonstrate strong communication skills in person, in writing, by phone, and via Zoom Be organized, efficient, patient, and professional Show enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and compassion Bridges Academy wishes to prepare students for life by offering a rich experiential learning environment in which students are safe to explore, discover, and make meaning. To that end, students are offered choices that challenge them while bolstering their strengths and talents. Salary + Benefits Information The salary for this full-time role is $18.50-$21.00/hour. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as a retirement savings plan.
