About Heavy Lifting Kids Coding & Robotics Workshop Heavy Lifting Kids Coding & Robotics is a Mountain View-based company dedicated to empowering K-8 students through hands-on robotics, coding, and engineering education. We teach students to build, code, and innovate using LEGO® robotics systems—including SPIKE™ Essentials, SPIKE™ Prime, and advanced Python-based programming. Our programs range from introductory STEM exploration to competition-level training for

League (FLL). Our teaching philosophy combines rigor, creativity, and real-world engineering practices. Classes are intentionally small and team-focused so every student receives personalized guidance while learning to collaborate like real engineers.Our mission is simple:

Position Overview We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and reliable Robotics Teaching Assistant (TA) to support our lead instructors during robotics classes, workshops, and after-school programs. This is an excellent role for college students or early-career educators who enjoy working with kids and want hands-on experience in robotics and teaching. No prior robotics experience is required—training is provided. ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Classroom Leadership Assist the lead instructor withLEGO SPIKE
robotics lessons and activities Help students build robots, connect sensors/motors, and troubleshoot simple problems Support students in Scratch or beginner Python coding Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and positive learning behavior Work directly with small groups or individual students when they need extra support Promote curiosity, confidence, and a love of STEM Assist with FLL team practices Help kids test robot missions, organize parts, and stay on task Operational Duties Set up classroom materials before class; clean up afterwards. Help organize, track, and pack up LEGO parts and robotics kits Communicate student progress and class updates with the teaching team. QualificationsRequired Enjoy working with kids Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team Responsible, punctual, and reliable with good communication Able to work after-school hours or weekends Preferred (Not Required) Experience withLEGO SPIKE
Prime or SPIKE Essentials Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience Familiarity with FLL or FTC robotics Engineering, CS, education, or STEM background What You'll Gain PAID experience working in STEM education Mentorship from Amazon, Meta, and Yale-trained engineers Classroom leadership experience Community service opportunities (for students who need hours) Potential to grow into a Lead Instructor or Coach role How to Apply Please send the following to heavyliftingedu@gmail.com:
