The Assistant helps maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for elementary-aged children (Kindergarten-4th Grade) while assisting with classroom activities in STEM, Literacy, enrichment classes, transitions, and supervision throughout the day. The ideal candidate is caring, energetic, responsible, and enjoys working with young children in a school or camp setting. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities, enrichment lessons, and camp routines. Support children during STEM activities, literacy sessions, arts and crafts, outdoor play, snack time, and transitions throughout the day. Help prepare classroom materials, organize learning spaces, and maintain a clean and structured environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety and positive behavior. Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures and protocols. Support children's social-emotional development by providing positive guidance and encouragement. Assist with arrival, dismissal, and daily classroom operations. Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and families when needed. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Follow all licensing requirements and school policies. Minimum Qualifications and Skills High school diploma or equivalent required College students or candidates pursuing degrees in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Liberal Studies, Special Education, or related fields are strongly preferred Previous experience working with children in schools, camps, after-school programs, tutoring, or childcare settings preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Caring, patient, responsible, and passionate about working with children Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff in a fast-paced environment Basic classroom management and supervision skills preferred Licensing Requirements Background check clearance required Live Scan fingerprint clearance required TB test clearance required CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred) Teaching Assistant Permit (preferred) ECE units or child development coursework (preferred) Expected Working Hours Monday to
Friday Typical Summer Camp Hours:
8:30 AM
  • 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Part-time afternoon positions may also be available (example: 1:00 PM
