St. Rose Catholic School is a faith-filled Catholic school community located in Paso Robles. Our school educates nearly 250 children in preschool through 8th grade and is seeking a positive, enthusiastic, flexible, and reliable Instructional Assistant to join our team. Instructional Assistants support classroom teachers, provide academic and behavioral assistance to students, supervise students during recess and lunch, and assist with a variety of daily school needs. Required Application Materials Letter of Introduction Resume Transcripts Three Letters of Recommendation Completed Application Upon hiring, employee must complete: TB Clearance DOJ Live Scan & Background Clearance Mandated Reporter Training Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Completion of Diocese of Monterey Safe Environment Program Essential Duties of a K-5 Educational Instructional Assistant A K-5 Educational Instructional Assistant supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, positive, and effective learning environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students. Instructional Support Assist the teacher with implementing daily lessons and classroom activities. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and skills. Provide support in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and other curricular areas. Help students complete assignments and stay on task. Prepare instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom resources. Assist with assessments, record keeping, and monitoring student progress. Support students with diverse learning needs and accommodations as directed by the teacher. Classroom Management Assist in maintaining a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment. Reinforce classroom expectations, rules, and behavioral standards. Help supervise students during transitions and classroom activities. Encourage respectful interactions and positive social skills among students. Support the teacher in addressing minor behavioral concerns. Student Supervision and Safety Supervise students during recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, assemblies, and other school activities. Monitor student safety and well-being at all times. Follow school procedures regarding emergencies, injuries, and student discipline. Report concerns regarding student welfare to appropriate school personnel. Administrative and Organizational Support Assist with copying, filing, organizing materials, and maintaining classroom supplies. Prepare bulletin boards, displays, and classroom learning environments. Help maintain accurate records as directed by the teacher or administration. Support communication efforts between the classroom and families when requested. Collaboration and Professionalism Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, staff, and parents. Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and school matters. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist with school-wide programs and events. Model professionalism, positive communication, and appropriate conduct at all times. Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of the Catholic school. Model Christian values and behavior in interactions with students, families, and staff. Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and faith formation activities as appropriate. Foster a respectful and faith-filled learning environment. Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, principal, or administration to support the educational program and school community. Qualifications Associate's degree / Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
