Job Description

About us: Science Beginnings is an after school program offering fun imaginative science camps during summer in the East Bay. Our Mission is to get kids excited about science. We need passionate leaders who can spark their minds, and who are energetic and enthusiastic about working with our awesome campers. We are a premier Science Enrichment company based in the East Bay that introduces children to science through exciting, interactive, and fun experiments. Our camps are held in Community Centers run by different cities. (San Ramon Community Center, City of Dublin, City of Danville, and City of Pleasanton).
Our work environment includes:
On-the-job training Flexible working hours Lively atmosphere Openings in Pleasanton, San Ramon, Dublin and Danville
LEAD TEACHER
Your Duties You will actively supervise campers at all times, teach a simple lesson plan, guide and help students with experiments, and building educational sets. Help implement various activities while working directly with elementary school aged children
  • You will take attendance, hand out supplies, plan games, move around and help students, teach the curriculum, and maintain order. In fact, you are the glue that keeps the camp going smoothly. Make sure high standards of health and physical and emotional safety are maintained. Bring an upbeat positive attitude to the campers. This is a leadership role
  • You are motivating elementary school students to be their creative best.
Be available for paid camp training. Help clean up spaces, put things in the right place etc.
FLEXIBLE TIMINGS.
You can work mornings or afternoons. It's a part time summer job from June through mid August. Flexibility in choice of weeks. Applicants need to be in college or graduated from college. Salary $24 per hour

You have good inter personal skills. Have some experience working with children Have a science background or is interested in science/education/STEM Have strong communication skills Ability to work well with your colleagues and interact in a friendly, polite manner to parents, campers, and administrators. Be a role model for younger students by showing up on time, being positive, caring, and enthusiastic about work. Proof of negative TB test result. Fingerprinting and background check required. Science Beginnings will pay for this service.
