Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Program Assistant to support our partnership program with Pomona Unified School District (PUSD) for the 2026-2027 school year. This leadership position plays a vital role in supporting daily program operations, maintaining program quality, and ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students and staff. The Program Assistant works closely with the Program Manager, TLC Teacher, school administrators, and site staff to provide both operational and instructional support while helping maintain consistency and accountability across the program. Key Responsibilities Program Operations & Administration
- Track, record, and verify daily student attendance
- Review and monitor lunch rosters for accuracy
- Support student sign-out procedures and ensure proper documentation
- Review and verify staff timecards
- Assist with compliance requirements and operational documentation
- Utilize Google Workspace tools for communication, tracking, and reporting Staff Support & Program Quality
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs to monitor program quality and expectations
- Provide support and guidance to Program Leaders throughout the day
- Assist with coaching, mentoring, and developing staff performance
- Support implementation of program expectations and accountability systems
- Help address staff concerns and participate in professional conversations when needed Student & Family Support
- Assist with student behavior support and conflict resolution when appropriate
- Support positive interactions with students and families
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and structured program environment
- Assist with family communication and parent concerns as needed General Leadership Support
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, TLC Teacher, and school administration to support site goals
- Help ensure smooth daily program operations
- Assist with site-wide initiatives, special projects, and operational priorities
- Provide additional leadership support as needed Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working in an afterschool, expanded learning, or youth development program
- Strong understanding of afterschool program expectations, procedures, and student supervision
- Ability to confidently engage in professional and sometimes difficult conversations
- Experience providing coaching, mentoring, or constructive feedback to peers
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Professional, reliable, and accountable
- Comfortable with administrative responsibilities and Google Workspace tools

- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Additional Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 48 college semester units or 60 quarter units and/or ability to pass a basic skills assessment in Math and English
- Previous experience working with TK-8 students in educational, tutoring, afterschool, or youth development settings
- Knowledge of academic subjects, enrichment activities, social-emotional learning (SEL), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and actively engage with students for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to supervise students in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing approximately 20-50 pounds as needed
- Ability to respond quickly to student and program needs in a dynamic educational setting Background Checks & Required Clearances Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required clearances and trainings, including:
- DOJ and FBI Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Clear Tuberculosis (TB) test results
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or completion of employer-provided training)
- Completion of Mandated Reporter General Training
- Successful completion of required basic skills assessments in Math and English, OR submission of unofficial transcripts demonstrating at least 48 earned college semester units (60 quarter units), OR possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree Availability
- Must be available to work the full program schedule, Monday-Friday from 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- Schedule may vary slightly based on program needs Performance Standing
- Must not have received any disciplinary warnings within the past six months (current staff)
- Must not have a pattern of excessive or unexcused absences, call-outs, or tardies within the past six months (current staff)
