Program Instructor, Program Coordinator, Program Assistant Director & Program Director Empower Academy is seeking a full-time (30 hours per week) Program Assistant to provide support and advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities. This open position is for our new locations in Sacramento and El Dorado Hills, CA . The Program Assistant's primary role for the program is to serve in a support capacity to all Program Managers, Program Drivers, Program Aides and Program Instructors. The Program Assistant serves to provide unconditional and exceptional assistance to all participants requiring help with daily living needs, activity inclusion and appropriate social inclusion. The Program Assistant serves to provide fully integrated assistance and varying levels of leadership during programming time for Program Managers, Program Aides, and Program Instructors. The Program Assistant serves to ensure the safety of all participants at all times. The Program Assistant can/will be expected to serve in the capacity of a Program Instructor - as needed - performing duties such as curriculum development and implementation as well as documentation of participant progress.
Summary of Job Duties:
Assisting the Program Manager(s) and co-workers to ensure ADA targets are met or exceeded on a daily/monthly basis. Acknowledging and engaging with every participant daily throughout the programming day Ensuring every participant is given the assistance needed to be at the very least physically integrated into every activity. Perform necessary documentation (daily documentation, case notes, etc.) as assigned/required Approaching all situations with a cheerful outlook and sustaining the cheerful outlook throughout the day. Assisting the Program Manager(s) and co-workers to ensure Title 17 and Title 22 compliance standards are met at all times by ensuring compliance checks and ensuring all areas related to participant safety and staff safety are attended to immediately. Provides hands on assistance to participants requiring help with basic daily living needs including eating, drinking, toileting, mobility, and hygiene, etc. Support implementation of age-appropriate curriculum-based activities for the participants to participate in as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old at the time of hire. Possession of a current certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Possession of a current certificate in Standard First Aide (SFA).
  • Proof of clearance through the Department of Justice and the FBI via Live Scan
  • Proof of passing a pre-placement physical and back assessment.
  • Proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
  • Current driver's license and driving history with no moving violations in past 3 years (if employee will drive as a part of their position).
