Job Description

SF Tikes Academy is a preschool in San Francisco, CA dedicated to providing a lively and engaging environment for the children and teachers! Candidates must possess work authorization in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor visas. Great Compensation and Benefits Health insurance Paid time off (Vacation & Sick Time) Dental insurance 401(k) with matching Vision insurance Holiday pay Professional development Floater Teacher We are looking for a full time (40 hours/week) Floater Teacher for our preschool program to start in the new school year (August 2026). The Floater Teacher supports the program's overall operation, Program Director and teaching staff by assisting with covering teacher breaks and absences, assisting different classrooms with daily routines and learning experiences. This is a great position for those with little to no experience in the field and often leads to a permanent teaching role in a classroom. Responsibilities and Duties Assist the Teachers in carrying out a developmentally appropriate educational program in accordance with SF Tikes Academy's philosophy, mission, and vision. Cover teacher breaks, prep time and cover teacher absences. Prepare daily snacks. Participate in school team meetings. Provide responsive, culturally appropriate care routines for children - toileting, diapering, toilet training, hand and face washing, changing of wet or soiled clothing, putting on or taking off weather-appropriate outdoor gear Supervise children at all times Performs cleaning throughout the day (with Teachers) to keep the environment clean and sanitary. Communicates with Teachers and Program Director as needed with regards to observations, questions, concerns and ideas regarding the program, children, and parents Other tasks as assigned Qualifications 0-2 years of teaching or other experience of young children ages 5 and under ECE or CD units preferred (12) but willing to train the right person
Physical Capabilities:
Be able to walk, run, squat or kneel, bend at the waist, sit on the floor, visually supervise children up close and across a classroom or playground space, hear, speak Lift up to 45 lbs occasionally Other Communicate in verbal and written English well enough to be understood by children, coworkers, and parents. Fluency in Spanish a plus. Authorized to work in the U.S. Health clearance Background check
