Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Program Aide (Swing) to support front desk operations and resident services for a nonprofit housing program in San Mateo, California. This is a Contract position that requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to stay organized during a swing shift through midnight. The person in this role will serve as a welcoming point of contact for visitors and clients while helping maintain a safe, orderly, and well-supported facility environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Welcome visitors and residents at the front desk, answer questions, and provide courteous day-to-day support.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, food deliveries, and donated items to the appropriate areas.
  • Enter and update information accurately in internal records and assist with routine administrative tasks.
  • Monitor client arrivals and departures, including completing check-in and check-out activities as needed.
  • Support site coverage by stepping in during staff breaks and meal periods to maintain uninterrupted front desk service.
  • Help residents access medications in accordance with site procedures and provide general assistance with basic needs.
  • Restock common areas and day room supplies to keep shared spaces clean, prepared, and functional.
  • Perform evening bed checks and complete interior and exterior facility rounds to promote safety and compliance.
  • Reinforce house guidelines, document concerns, and issue notices when necessary to address policy violations.
