Job Description

Orange County Educational Arts Academy (OCEAA) is a TK-8 independent charter school specializing in dual language immersion programming which serves over 600 students. Our mission at OCEAA is simple: to nurture all learners to become creative, critical thinkers by providing high quality standards-based instruction through the arts, technology, language and culture. OCEAA has a diverse population; approximately 70% of our students are low income, 38% are English Learners and 14% are Students with Disabilities. Grounded in our Habits of Character- integrity, compassion, courage, collaboration, and perseverance, OCEAA partners with EL Education as a national network school to create classrooms where students achieve content mastery in two languages and become active contributors in building a better world.
Schedule:
TK:
Monday to Friday 11:00am - 6:30pm (35 hrs/week)
Kindergarden:
Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 1:00-6:30pm; Wed 12:00-6:30pm (28 hrs/ week) Grades 1-8: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 2:00-6:30pm; Wed 1:00-6:30pm (23.5 hrs/ week)

GENERAL SUMMARY
The After School Program team at Orange County Educational Arts Academy (OCEAA) supports TK-8th grade students through a high-quality, personalized after-school experience focused on academic intervention, homework support, enrichment activities, and youth development. Under the general supervision of the After School and Student Activities Manager, program staff uphold OCEAA's mission and values by fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that promotes student growth both academically and socially-emotionally. Program Aides assist with daily operations, provide classroom support, and perform clerical and logistical tasks essential to the smooth running of the program. After School Teachers I support student learning through direct instruction and enrichment activities, and help monitor academic and behavioral progress with guidance from program leadership. After School Teachers II take on expanded responsibilities, including independently delivering high-quality instruction to groups of up to 25 students, planning standards-based lessons, and collaborating with school-day staff and families to ensure students' academic and emotional development. All team members play an important role in creating a safe, respectful, and enriching after-school experience aligned with OCEAA's educational philosophy and character values. After School Program Aide Provide general support to teachers and staff: classroom assistance, behavior support, materials prep, and program logistics.
Perform clerical duties:
answer phones, greet visitors, file documents. Help with snack service and staff break coverage.
Requires:
High School Diploma or GED; customer service and detail orientation; office/procedural experience preferred. Entry-level, general program and clerical support $18.00-$20.00 After School Teacher I Lead instruction with autonomy under guidance; support small groups and individuals. Monitor behavior and ensure active participation. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons. Responsible for tracking incidents, snacks, and parent sign-in/out documentation.
Requires:
High School Diploma (Associate's degree preferred); 1 year experience in youth programs or education. 1 year experience with student instruction or enrichment $19.00 - $21.00 After School Teacher II Independently lead instruction and enrichment for up to 25 students. Develop and deliver differentiated, standards-based lesson plans. Assess academic performance and use data to guide instruction. Collaborate with school-day teachers and external service providers. Emphasize high expectations for college and career readiness.
Requires:
High School Diploma + 48 college units or Associate's degree; 3 years of experience in youth education. 3+ years of instructional experience, including teaching or mentoring $21.00 - $25.00 Shared responsibilities :
  • Ensure student safety and compliance with program expectations.
  • Engage students in meaningful academic or enrichment activities.
  • Maintain professional, respectful communication with students, staff, and families.
  • Maintain accurate records such as attendance and snack tracking.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
