In person Position Overview Santa Barbara Gymnastics Club LLC is seeking an energetic and reliable Youth Program Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting structured camp and youth programs for children while promoting a safe, engaging, and positive environment. The Youth Program Assistant will help facilitate daily camp activities such as games, movement, crafts, and group activities while maintaining a structured and safety-focused environment. Staff play an important role in helping children develop confidence, coordination, social skills, and independence. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and have an interest in youth programs, recreation, camps, or early childhood development. Essential Job Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Support structured camp and youth programs while maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment Assist with activities including games, crafts, movement-based play, and group activities Help guide children through daily schedules and transitions between activities Supervise participants to ensure safe use of equipment and program spaces Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and participation among children Assist in implementing daily schedules, lesson plans, and themed activities Provide encouragement and support to help children feel confident and included Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and supervisors Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program environment Assist with events, camps, or special programs when needed Follow all facility safety protocols and youth protection policies Job responsibilities described above represent the general scope of the role and may change or evolve based on program needs, staffing requirements, or operational considerations. Minimum Qualifications Applicants should meet the following qualifications: Experience working with children in camps, childcare, education, youth sports, or related programs preferred Ability to supervise and engage groups of children in a structured setting Knowledge of youth behavior management and positive reinforcement techniques Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and families Ability to adapt activities for different ages and needs CPR / First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and sound judgment when supervising minors Work Schedule and Hours This is a part-time position based on current program scheduling and enrollment levels. The anticipated schedule for this role is approximately 10-15 hours per week. Work hours are determined by program schedules, camp demand, and operational needs. Hours are not guaranteed and may increase or decrease depending on enrollment, seasonal programming, or business needs. Employees are expected to maintain reliable availability for scheduled shifts and communicate scheduling conflicts in advance. The company reserves the right to adjust schedules, modify assignments, increase or reduce hours, or shift responsibilities as necessary to meet operational needs. Assignment to specific programs, schedules, or responsibilities is not guaranteed and may change over time. Compensation This position offers a pay range of $17.00 - $21.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and program needs. All wages will be paid in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including California labor law requirements. Physical Requirements This position involves physical activity and may require: Participating in and assisting with active games and movement-based activities Standing or moving for extended periods of time Lifting or assisting with equipment up to approximately 25-40 pounds Responding quickly to safety situations involving youth participants Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law. Youth Protection and Mandated Reporter Compliance Because this role involves working with minors, employees must follow all youth protection and safety policies established by the organization. Employees may be required to comply with applicable mandated reporting laws and incident reporting procedures. Employees must follow all policies regarding: appropriate interaction with minors supervision standards abuse prevention practices incident reporting procedures Failure to comply with youth protection policies may result in disciplinary action, including termination. Professional Conduct with Minors Employees must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students and families at all times.

Employment Conditions Employment with Santa Barbara Gymnastics Club LLC is at-will, meaning either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, except where otherwise required by law.
