AM Paraeducator Definition:
Under the direction of the Site Administrator, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom environment.
Yard Duty Monitor Definition:
Under the direction of the principal, supervise and monitor the behavior of students at various times during the day and ensure that the health and safety of assigned children are protected within an assigned area; enforce campus rules and regulations. Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent; college courses in child growth and development, elementary education and / or psychology desirable, experience working with children. Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein.
- Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent, and
- Two years of college courses (72 units) or
- AA Degree (or higher) or
- Pass the ESSA (NCLB) Paraprofessional Test (available at our district office). Two years' experience working with students; or college coursework in psychology, child growth and development or education may be substituted for experience.
