Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with instructional activities, managing behavior, and providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. Your energetic and positive approach will help create an engaging learning environment where all children can thrive. Responsibilities Support classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy, math, and early childhood education. Assist students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities, to promote their academic and social success. Use effective behavior management techniques to foster a positive classroom atmosphere and ensure student safety. Help develop and adapt curriculum materials tailored to individual student needs, including IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. Incorporate communication skills such as American Sign Language when appropriate to enhance student engagement and understanding. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to maintain a structured environment. Support classroom management strategies by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating social interactions among students. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or early childhood education environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and special education practices. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays. Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management strategies. Proficiency in American Sign Language or willingness to learn is a plus. Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments through patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
