Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Immediate openings are available for experienced Paraprofessionals or Certified Nursing Assistants seeking contract roles as Bus Aides for the 25/26 academic year. Multiple positions are needed across several locations, with assignments scheduled from now through June 12, 2026—and a strong likelihood of renewal for the 26/27 school year. This opportunity is perfect for professionals committed to supporting students with special needs in a school transportation setting. As a Bus Aide, you'll accompany students to and from their schools each day, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assignments include both morning and afternoon shifts, averaging three hours daily: approximately 90 minutes in the morning (between 6:30-8:30 am) and 90 minutes in the afternoon (between 2:30-4:30 pm). Positions are available throughout Philadelphia and neighboring towns.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant Prior work with special needs children strongly preferred Familiarity with riding a school bus with students is desired Strong verbal de-escalation and communication abilities Dependable and able to work independently with 1:1 or 2:1 caseloads
Responsibilities:
Ride alongside students in the vehicle to and from school Picked up at the school in the morning; accompany the driver to the student's home and back Reverse routine in the afternoon for dismissal Maintain a safe, supportive environment for students during transport Employ de-escalation techniques as needed Enjoy a consistent, part-time schedule with meaningful work supporting students' daily success.
