Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support students as a Bus Aide for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year in the Seattle, WA area. This contract role involves providing 1:1 or 2:1 assistance to students with special needs during their transportation to and from school. Ideal candidates will have experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant and strong verbal de-escalation skills.
Location:
Seattle, WA and surrounding areas
Schedule:
Approximately 3 hours per day, 15 hours per week Morning shift: 90 minutes (between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM) Afternoon shift: 90 minutes (between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM)
Duration:
ASAP through May 29, 2026, with support needed during Extended School Year (ESY) and the 2026-2027 school year
Caseload:
1:1 or 2:1 bus aide support
Key Responsibilities:
Accompany students on the bus to and from school, ensuring a safe and supportive environment Assist the driver with picking up students from home and returning them to school Provide individualized support tailored to student needs, including behavior management using verbal de-escalation techniques Prioritize safety and comfort throughout the bus ride Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while supporting students with special needs Collaborate with school staff and transportation teams as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred Familiarity with working with special needs children and previous experience riding the bus with students strongly desired Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in managing challenging behaviors Reliable and punctual with a commitment to consistent attendance This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the well-being and success of students in the transportation setting with a strong chance of contract renewal.
