Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as you provide essential support to a student with significant behavioral needs for the remainder of the 25/26 school year. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from April 13, 2026 to June 11, 2026 and is ideal for a skilled Paraprofessional or Registered Behavior Technician ready to make a difference in a school community near Torrance, CA. In this role, you will be paired one-on-one with a student, helping them navigate their school day and fostering a positive, structured environment. The district welcomes candidates with strong behavioral intervention skills and a compassionate, steady approach—male candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or relevant Paraprofessional experience Background supporting students with intense behavioral challenges Experience with one-on-one academic and behavioral interventions Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement strategies Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Dedication, reliability, and strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 behavioral and academic support to assigned student Implement behavior intervention plans in collaboration with educators and specialists Observe, record, and report student progress and behavior Support the student in social, academic, and transition activities throughout the school day Foster trust and rapport, encouraging positive interactions and self-regulation If you are ready for a rewarding contract where you can use your expertise to change a student's educational journey, this is your opportunity.
