As an Math Assistant at Kumon of Tracy South, you will support the educational development of learners through effective tutoring and teaching strategies. Your core skills in classroom management and experience with children will be essential in creating a positive learning environment. You will also utilize premium skills in curriculum development and learning technology to enhance student engagement. Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are vital for managing data entry and facilitating smooth operations within the center. Join us in fostering academic growth and success for our students. We are seeking a dedicated Math Instructor Assistant and passionate candidate to join our team at Kumon Of Tracy South.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the math portion of our program. Greet arriving students and answer questions related to assignments. Coach students to think for themselves and problem-solve. Grade classwork and report any problems to the Primary Instructor. Maintain a quiet and focused learning environment and a supportive atmosphere for the students. Assist parents with any questions they may have. File and organize worksheets, adjust homework assignments as needed, and prepare student files for the next class. Help keep the center tidy and well-prepared. (To start with, we have a month long training process in which the initial pay will be $16 per hour; once the training period is finished, it will raise to $17 per hour. The pay will also be reviewed based on work proficiency on the aforementioned responsibilities.)

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is of college age and above Someone who can commit for 1.5+ years Someone who can commit for 2-3 days a week consistently (we are an after school program that typically runs from 3:30PM to 7:00PM (Mon-Thurs)) Someone who has relevant experience teaching or tutoring children Good academic background in math. Strong commitment to the assigned schedule and the ability to commit long-term. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to pay close attention to details and effectively document student progress.
