Summer Camp Teacher Assistant Boingo's Academy Visalia, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $17.00 - $17.25 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Childcare CPR Certification Early childhood education High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Driving Associate's degree Child Development Associate Certification Camp Full Job Description Camp Counselor / School Age Teacher A Camp Counselor, or Summer Camp Counselor, is responsible for supervising campers and ensuring their safety at all times. Duties include planning and overseeing daily camp activities, maintaining structure and routines, supporting positive behavior, and helping create a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate environment for children. Duties & Responsibilities Supervise children at all times to ensure health, safety, and well-being Plan and lead indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts, and enrichment experiences Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios in accordance with California Title 22 regulations Provide positive guidance and redirection using developmentally appropriate practices Assist with homework support, group activities, transitions, meals, and field trips Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom or activity environment Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administration Follow all center policies, emergency procedures, and licensing regulations Assist with transportation and supervision during school pickups, drop-offs, and field trips when needed Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED required Must have a clean driving record and valid California Driver's License Must be able to pass DOJ, FBI, and CACI fingerprint clearance/background check Must meet Community Care Licensing Title 22 requirements for School Age staff Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required Current Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207 required Health screening and TB clearance required Proof of required immunizations: Measles, Pertussis, and Influenza vaccine or signed flu waiver Preferred Qualifications ECE units are a plus. Applicants with coursework in Child Development or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Per California Community Care Licensing Title 22, preferred School Age Teacher qualifications may include: 12 or more ECE/CD units including: Child/Human Growth & Development Child, Family & Community Curriculum/Programs for School Age Children Experience working with school-age children in a licensed childcare center, camp, or educational setting preferred Special Skills Strong leadership and classroom management skills Ability to manage groups of children in active environments Positive attitude and team-player mentality Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergencies Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to safely transport and supervise children when needed Physical Requirements Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and respond quickly to children's needs and emergencies Ability to participate in physical activities, games, and outdoor play Lines of Supervision Camp Counselors / School Age Teachers report directly to the Site Supervisor, Assistant Director, or Director.
