The minimum qualifications are one (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with school age children requiring a specialized learning environment. Under current State and Federal Law, requirements include proof of a high school diploma or its equivalent to be submitted with completed application and meet one of the three requirements: A) Completion of 2 years of study (48 units) at an institution of higher learning, or B) an Associate degree or higher, or C) pass a rigorous District-administered assessment that demonstrates the knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math.
