POSITION SUMMARY
The Library Paraprofessional supports the library and technology program by providing clerical, instructional, and technical assistance to the Teacher Librarian, school staff, and students. This position assists with technology integration, library services, and the management and maintenance of library resources, including student devices. Responsibilities include circulation services, collection maintenance, inventory management, and general support of instructional activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Teacher Librarian and Educational Technology Coordinator with asset management, including the checkout, tracking, and basic troubleshooting of student and staff devices. Support students and staff in the use of technology, library resources, and makerspace tools, including basic troubleshooting as needed. Assist the Teacher Librarian during class visits, instructional activities, and library lessons. Support students and staff in locating and using library materials and resources and responding to general inquiries. Perform circulation duties, including checking materials in and out, issuing overdue notices, and managing billing for lost or damaged items. Complete clerical and administrative tasks, including typing, filing, data entry, compiling statistics, preparing reports, maintaining inventories, and organizing records. Maintain an orderly, clean, and accessible library environment, including shelving books, organizing collections, and creating displays. Assist in evaluating the library collection, processing new materials, and performing minor repair and mending of books and resources. Perform other related duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: Interactions with students, lifting 5 to 20 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping and squatting. This job is performed in a mostly clean and healthy environment with some noise.
CLEARANCE
Must clear background check through the CBI and the FBI through Fingerprint submission.
SALARY:
Salary based upon Class 1 of the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule and is $13.69 - $15.16 hour based upon previous related experience. The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.
BENEFITS
Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by state statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA. The District contributes 21%.
