Salary Information
Hourly Rate:
$18.78 - $33.92 per hour, based on the current Classified Salary Schedule and depending on education and experience.
This is a 9-month position with a 179-day calendar. The District offers a comprehensive benefits package. Pay is distributed in 12 equal monthly payments.
Position Summary
The SPED Paraprofessional supports students with special needs by assisting in the delivery of instructional and behavioral support services under the direction of licensed staff. This position helps ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment while promoting student independence and academic growth.
Qualifications for the Position
Minimum of an Associate's degree or the equivalent of two years of college required, or a passing score on the WorkKeys assessment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred
Experience assisting students with reading, writing, math, and other academic areas preferred
Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and school grounds
Ability to support instruction by tutoring, reinforcing learning, and supervising independent and group work under the direction of licensed staff
Ability to perform clerical tasks and assist with communication between home and school
Ability to respond to minor emergencies and provide basic first aid as needed
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to perform additional duties as assigned by the administration

Conditions of Employment
9-month position, 7.5 hours per day, following a 179-day calendar
Pay distributed in 12 equal monthly payments
All employment contracts are subject to approval by the Board of Education
