POSITION SUMMARY
Health Assistant:
Responsible for providing appropriate and timely care to sick and/or injured students; creating, updating, and managing immunization records and related student records; contacting parents as needed; administering and documenting medications provided to students; maintaining clinic inventory; monitor and support implementation of Health Care Action Plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Create immunization records in the District's student information database and update and follow-up with non-compliant students. Provide appropriate and timely care to sick and/or injured students. Monitor and support implementation of Health Care Action Plans. Document on the clinic register all students who visit and leave the clinic. Contact parents/emergency contacts as needed to arrange for student pick-up if necessary. Administer and document medications to students. Input data into the District's student information database regarding students who leave the school sick. Compile and update medications consent forms and send to area nurse. Maintain adequate supplies in clinic; order supplies as needed. Count controlled medications. Produce mailing to parents of students not in compliance with immunizations. Coordinate and schedule immunization clinics.
OTHER DUTIES
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. No experience required; experience in CPR/First Aid and working with students preferred. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or
CERTIFICATIONS
(district provided after hire) CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required. Medication and universal precautions training/certifications required.
SALARY:
Grade 4 starting salary $19.41 25 hours/week
