Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Paraeducator/Behavior Technician working full-time (32.5 hours/week) supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Bristol, CT. As an essential member of the educational team, you will primarily offer 1:1 and classroom support for students, focusing on learners on the Autism Spectrum and those facing a range of behavioral challenges. Your experience and compassion will help make a meaningful impact on students' daily learning and growth.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience (1-2 years) in behavior support or special education settings Familiarity with working alongside students on the Autism Spectrum or those displaying behavioral challenges, from mild to more intensive needs Ability to provide patient, individualized assistance—mainly 1:1—with 5-7 students per class Comfort with the possibility of assisting with physical care needs, including toileting Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver dedicated 1:1 and small group behavioral support within classroom settings Implement individualized strategies that foster positive behaviors and emotional regulation Collaborate with teachers and specialists to create inclusive, structured learning environments Support academic and life skills instruction, adapt approaches as student needs evolve Maintain a safe atmosphere and uphold confidentiality at all times
