Until Filled Farmington Public Schools is seeking a qualified Special Education Paraprofessional at our Avon location. This position is full time school year with benefits.
General Description:
This position will support special education students in the classroom and on internships sites through modeling, training, fading and data collection.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Candidate should hold an Associate's degree or 2 years of college diploma or its equivalent (i.e. Para Professional Assessment). Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers. Consideration will be given to the following: Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form. Various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidate's overall preparedness. Prior experience working with students with physical disabilities preferred.
Qualifications:
Skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a high school education and some experience working with children or adults with disabilities, ability to lift up to 40lbs. without assistance and eligible for a public service license.

To support special education students in the classroom and on internships sites through modeling, training, fading and data collection.
Salary:
$24.18 - 28.26 per hour/ FPSEU contract, dependant upon experience
Schedule:
6.5 hours paid per day, school year
Location:
Avon, CT
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
180 day work year Follows the Simsbury School Calendar.
Work Hours:
6.5 hours per day-plus unpaid 30 minute lunch. Salary negotiated between the collective bargaining agreement between the Farmington FPSEU and the Board of Education.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of non-certified Personnel.
