Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Our school is seeking an experienced, innovative Learning Support Teacher who excels in a highly collaborative environment. Working across multiple classrooms, you will partner with the co-teaching team to identify and support students with diverse learning needs. You will provide the deep differentiation and small-group support necessary for success by utilizing both push-in and pull-out models. and implement formal assessment tools to measure and monitor learning progress of students. This full-time position is a unique opportunity to provide effective, consistent intervention across grades 3-5, ensuring growth for all learners within our dynamic faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS
Embracing and fulfilling Whitby's mission statement. Advanced degree in Literacy, Special Education, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in learning support or a related field. Specific experience working with students in grades 3-5. Expertise in formal and informal reading/writing assessments and the design of Instructional Plans (IPs) Experience facilitating inquiry-based learning; IBPYP experience is a distinct advantage. Excellent work ethic and strong communication skills for collaborating with parents and external professionals. Willingness to engage in professional development both inside and outside of the regular teacher calendar. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background and health checks.
