The Program Assistant will serve as a key point of contact, providing exceptional support to staff, stakeholders, and clients alike. Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich (BGCG) is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit organization dedicated to preparing young people, through enrichment opportunities and supportive relationships, to be responsible, caring and productive community members . With our newly renovated 60,000 square foot Clubhouse, and 77-acre summer camp, we offer unapparelled programs, education and sports that make a positive and lasting impact on all children in our community. Position Summary The Program Assistant plays an important role in supporting high-quality programs that engage youth ages 6 to 18 in a safe, fun and welcoming environment. This position works closely with program staff to help plan, implement, and evaluate activities that promote learning, positive relationships, and personal growth. The Program Assistant supports the Club's mission by fostering meaningful connections with members, encouraging consistent participation, and helping ensure programs run smoothly and effectively. Key Responsibilities Youth & Teen Engagement Lead and support structured activities in areas such as arts, sports, STEM, academic enrichment, and social-emotional development. Build strong relationships with members to encourage regular attendance, engagement, and positive behavior. Support the implementation of behavior management strategies and individualized behavior plans, as needed. Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and interests of different age groups and learning styles. Maintain a safe and supportive environment that reflects the Club's values and philosophy. Program Planning & Evaluation Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes using Club data systems and reporting tools. Assist with daily program logistics, scheduling, and preparation of materials and supplies. Monitor participation trends and provide input on ways to strengthen programs and increase member engagement. Support continuous improvement efforts by gathering feedback and helping implement program enhancements. Team Collaboration & Administrative Support Work collaboratively with program staff and leadership to ensure consistent, coordinated program delivery. Assist in planning and implementing Club-wide events, family engagement activities, and special initiatives. Provide administrative support, including maintaining program calendars, coordinating program information for marketing materials, preparing program-related communications to families, and managing ordering and inventory of program supplies. Club Culture Support and oversee youth-developed social media content and outreach (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) in alignment with Club policies and safety guidelines. Create engaging, fun, and visually appealing bulletin boards throughout the Club that celebrate member achievements, highlight programs, and promote a sense of belonging. Use creative outreach strategies—including social media, flyers, and peer ambassadors—to increase awareness of programs, encourage participation, and strengthen Club culture. Encourage youth leadership and voice by involving members in promoting activities, sharing successes, and helping shape a positive and inclusive Club environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, social work, youth development, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 2 years of professional experience working with youth across age groups, especially teens, or equivalent experience working with children also considered. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to relate to and motivate youth from diverse backgrounds. Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends. Preferred Skills Experience in youth recruitment, engagement, and program facilitation. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and positive youth development. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Work Environment Primarily office-based with occasional travel to program sites. Requires light lifting and repetitive motion associated with computer work. Fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities.
