Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Begin a rewarding contract opportunity as a Paraeducator/Behavior Technician in a supportive school environment near Hartford, CT. Multiple full-time positions (32.5 hours/week) are available, providing the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students on the Autism Spectrum and those facing behavioral challenges. As part of a dedicated team, you'll deliver both 1:1 and classroom support, fostering a positive and inclusive learning space. Your background in behavioral or special education settings will be highly valued here, as you work closely with 5-7 students per class, mainly in individualized roles. Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to helping students succeed are essential for this role.
What We're Looking For:
At least 1-2 years of previous experience with behavioral or special needs (SPED) students Paraprofessional skills and a passion for working in educational settings Ability to provide support to students with a range of behavioral needs, from mild to severe Willingness and ability to assist with toileting and other personal care needs, as needed Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 support for students, both in and out of the classroom Support classroom activities and promote student engagement Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to meet student goals Implement behavior intervention plans with guidance from educational teams Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment This contract role offers competitive pay, based on experience (from $18 to $24 per hour), along with benefits including insurance and 401(k).
