Inc. - 4.4 New Haven, CT Job Details Part-time $21 - $23 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Passion for working with children Full Job Description Job Overview Join our vibrant, mixed-age 3-5 play-based early childhood education team as an Assistant Preschool Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will nurture young minds and foster a love of learning. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Your energy and compassion will inspire children to explore, discover, and grow through playful learning experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children while gaining valuable classroom experience. Duties Assist lead teachers with implementing daily lesson plans. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop social skills. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood education principles. Help with classroom organization, including setting up learning stations and maintaining a clean, safe environment for preschoolers. Skills Understanding of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices. Knowledge of classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds, including toddlers and those requiring special accommodations. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage with parents confidently. Familiarity with childcare regulations, daycare standards, and private school requirements. Proficiency in curriculum development for preschool settings using Montessori or other educational philosophies.
