Work year to be established by the Board, (1) day only to assist with Unified Prom; (3) vacancies

POSITION OVERVIEW

To support teachers by assisting with classroom instruction, management, and non-instructional tasks that promote student learning. Paraeducators help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that nurtures both the academic and social-emotional development of students in New London\'s diverse, internationally minded school community.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision of a licensed teacher, sets up, distributes, and collects instructional materials. Assists in classroom management and instructional support of students. Supports the teacher with non-instructional tasks (e.g., supervision, organization). Participates in in-service training and professional development. Follows program rules, guidelines, and regulations. Performs related tasks as assigned by the teacher, principal, or designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate\'s degree, 60 college credits, or High School Diploma with a passing score on the ParaPro Exam. Effective oral and written communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
