Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a direct impact in students' lives by providing hands-on support in a dynamic school environment as a contract paraeducator. This role involves both 1:1 work with students and integral collaboration within classrooms, helping lead teachers and supervisors create positive learning experiences. You'll play a vital part in assisting with supervision and instruction of special education students in alignment with their Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Planning and Placement Team (PPT) recommendations, supporting each student's educational and personal development goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with special education students, providing 1:1 assistance and classroom support. Collaborate with lead teachers to supervise and implement instructional activities. Support student learning and achievement of educational objectives, both individually and in group settings. Follow guidelines in students' IEPs and support implementation as outlined by PPT. Provide assistance in daily living needs as required, including toileting support. Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom atmosphere. Support full-time coverage during school hours (8:30am-3:30pm).Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience in a school setting, with special education or behavioral support, or related background. Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and fellow staff. Flexible, patient, and attentive to details—especially when following personalized education plans. Comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care as needed. Reliable and committed to a full-time schedule. Enjoy competitive hourly pay ($18-$24 per hour, depending on experience), along with access to benefits including health insurance and a 401(k) plan.
