Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Are you passionate about supporting students and making a difference every day? Opportunities are available for dedicated Paraeducators and Behavior Technicians to provide both classroom and 1:1 support for students with a range of behavioral challenges and Autism Spectrum diagnoses. This contract position is full-time, totaling 32.5 hours per week, and is located near West Hartford, CT. Ideal candidates will be prepared to adapt to a dynamic educational setting, working closely with 5-7 students per class who benefit from supportive guidance to thrive both academically and socially. This role deeply values patience, flexibility, and compassion, recognizing the unique needs of each student.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with students with behavioral or special education needs Background supporting students on the Autism Spectrum Comfort and capability assisting students with toileting, as needed Ability to work collaboratively within classroom teams and communicate effectively with both students and staff Positive, empathetic, and resourceful mindset
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering direct 1:1 and small group support in the classroom Assisting students to engage in daily routines and achieve individualized educational goals Implementing behavioral intervention strategies under the guidance of special education staff Supporting safe and inclusive learning environments Documenting progress and communicating with educational teams regarding student needs
