Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract School-Based Behavior Technician / Paraprofessional This onsite position with Soliant Education is an education industry role supporting a specialized campus in the Windsor, CT area. The assignment begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year (EOSY), with potential summer opportunities available based on performance. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance may also be considered for renewal for the 2026-2027 school year contract. Position Overview This role involves providing direct support to students in both 1:1 and classroom settings, with a primary focus on 1:1 support while also assisting in classrooms of approximately 5-7 students. Students served include individuals on the Autism Spectrum and those with a range of behavioral challenges, from mild to more intensive needs. The student population ranges in age from 5 to 22 years old within a highly structured and specialized educational setting. Responsibilities may also include assisting with activities of daily living, including toileting support when required. Responsibilities Selected candidates will work closely with students to support academic engagement, behavioral regulation, and daily routines in both individual and group settings. Implementation of behavior support strategies, de-escalation techniques, and consistent reinforcement of individualized plans will be expected throughout the day. Collaboration with teachers, support staff, and related service providers is essential to ensure student progress and safety. Flexibility and responsiveness are important in a setting where student needs may vary throughout the day. Requirements Candidates must have a minimum of one year of professional experience working with students with behavioral disabilities in a school, clinic, or similar professional environment. Experience supporting individuals with autism and behavioral challenges is strongly preferred, along with familiarity in structured behavioral interventions. The ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-intensity situations is essential. Strong communication skills and a commitment to student-centered support are also required. Schedule and Location This is a full-time position, 31 hours per week, typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The assignment is located in the Windsor, CT area within a specialized educational campus. The environment is structured and collaborative, requiring consistent teamwork among educational staff to support student success. Compensation and Benefits Pay ranges from $19.50 to $25.50 per hour, depending on experience and other relevant factors. Soliant Education provides benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan and weekly pay.
