In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist students in reaching their full potential. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's educational journeys, especially those with diverse learning needs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create an engaging, inclusive space where every child feels valued and empowered to learn. Responsibilities Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning. Assist students with classroom activities, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated throughout the day. Provide individualized support for students with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs, following their IEP (Individualized Education Program) guidelines. Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and help resolve conflicts constructively. Help maintain a well-organized classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence. Incorporate communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate to facilitate inclusive interactions. Support early childhood education principles through age-appropriate activities that foster childhood development and literacy skills. Requirements Prior experience working with children in preschool, childcare, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Experience supporting students with autism or implementing accommodations based on IEPs. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to assist in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to diverse learning needs. Certification or training in Deaf education or American Sign Language is a plus but not mandatory.
