Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Passing score on ParaPro exam, or at least 60 semester hours of college credit.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful experience in teaching, counseling, social work or coaching in a related area preferred •Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
Provides students with an orientation to the in-school suspension program. Assigns and returns class work received from the referring teacher. Provides students with approved academic/behavioral learning materials. Monitors the academic and behavioral progress of students. Creates a positive classroom atmosphere conductive to learning while enforcing appropriate classroom, school, and district rules and regulations. Performs assigned duties related to student safety (i.e. bus duty, parent pickup, walkway safety, lunchroom duty, field trips). Monitors progress of students who complete the in-school suspension program. Assists with the annual evaluation of the in-school suspension program. Performs other duties consistent with the job goal.
