Childcare - Aftercare Assistant Teacher Montessori School of Fort Myers - 3.6 Fort Myers, FL Job Details Part-time $16.50 - $18.00 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Some college Childcare High school diploma or GED Montessori Child Development Associate Certification Full Job Description Assistant Aftercare Teacher Montessori School of Fort Myers is looking for a compassionate assistant aftercare teacher capable of working in our infant, toddler and primary environment to begin immediately. Our aftercare program begins at 11:30pm and ends when school closes at 6pm each day, Monday-Friday. The aftercare teacher is responsible for cleaning and closing the classroom following school hours.

Age Group:
0-6yrs Ages Maintain a safe and clean classroom and a nurturing environment. All faculty members pitch in to clean the classroom daily. Provide positive guidance and encouragement in each student's daily routine which include tasks such as diapering, toilet training, eating, hand washing, napping, etc. Implement our Montessori curriculum and provide your own creative ideas for fun educational activities. Conduct record keeping in compliance with child care licensing standards, our accreditation body, and our internal policies. Conduct growth and development screening programs and report findings to parents. Communicate effectively and positively with our faculty and parents. Develop a strong partnership with parents and encourage a high level of participation in our parent involvement programs. Be knowledgeable of our preschool's philosophy, mission statement, and policies. Actively participate in faculty meetings to discuss administrative issues, curriculum planning, and more. Give only lessons to the children which the lead teacher has approved.
Position Requirements:
We are overseen by the Florida Department of Children and Families and currently seeking accreditation with Association of Independent School of Florida and The American Montessori Society, so our assistant teacher requirements largely follow their standards and requirements.
Required:
A High School Diploma or GED.
Required:
2 or more years of experience. Preference for an active Florida Staff Credential (CDA or exemption) or ability to complete within 6 months of employment. Preference given for a degree or some college. A natural love for working with children ages 0-6. Reliable, flexible to change, and happy to accept constructive input on self-improvement from colleagues and the school's Head of School. Ability to pass all Florida Department of Children and Families requirements (background check, fingerprinting, etc.).
Our Preschool:
Our cozy family-run school holds up to 100 students (1 infant environment, 3 toddler environments, and 2 primary environments) where we have provided a high-end Montessori educational experience for 0 - 6 year old's since 1969. We are located in beautiful Fort Myers, FL in a calm residential neighborhood.
We Offer:
