Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center is seeking an experienced Assistant Teacher to join our busy and engaging 2-year-old classroom. We are looking for a professional educator who understands toddler development, enjoys active learning, and can confidently support a large classroom of young learners. Our ideal candidate is warm, patient, energetic, and fully engaged with children throughout the day. We are seeking someone who enjoys being on the floor with children, facilitating learning through play, supporting social-emotional growth, and helping create a classroom where children feel safe, valued, and successful. What You'll Do Support the Lead Teacher in implementing Curriculum Engage children through play, conversation, music, movement, and hands-on learning Foster positive social-emotional development and age-appropriate behavior Assist with classroom routines, meals, toileting, transitions, and rest time Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing learning environment Collaborate with teaching staff and families to support each child's growth and development Document children's activities and communicate professionally with families and team members Qualifications Required Previous experience working in a large, active 2-year-old classroom Florida DCF 40-Hour Introductory Child Care Training completed Current CPR and First Aid certification All required state childcare certifications and training up to date Strong understanding of toddler development and developmentally appropriate practices We're Looking For Someone Who Is Dependable and professional Comfortable in a fast-paced classroom environment Engaged and interactive with children A strong team player Passionate about early childhood education If you're ready to join a team committed to high-quality early learning and helping children thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
