Part-Time Preschool Teacher Assistant (Afternoon Shift)

Everglades Academy is looking for a caring and reliable Part-Time Teacher Assistant to join our preschool team for the afternoon shift. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and is either already certified or interested in starting a career in early childhood education. The assistant will help support classroom operations, cover teacher breaks, and assist primarily in our 3-year-old classroom during the afternoon hours until closing.

Responsibilities:

Assist lead teachers during classroom activities Supervise children while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment Cover teacher lunch and break times Support daily routines such as snack time, transitions, and clean-up Help maintain classroom organization and structure Assist in the 3-year-old classroom during afternoon hours Ensure children are engaged, safe, and well cared for

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older Must enjoy working with young children Responsible, patient, and organized Able to follow routines and instructions Willing to learn and grow in early childhood education DCF 40 hours completed or in progress (preferred, not required) English required; Spanish is a plus but not mandatory

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a preschool or childcare setting (not required) Interest in pursuing a career in early childhood education
