This is a full-time position working in our preschool program with either our Pre-K3 or VPK class. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young children, support a positive and nurturing classroom environment, and work closely under the direction of the lead teacher. Torah Academy of Jacksonville is an Orthodox Jewish Day School. Applicants do not need to be Jewish, but should be comfortable working in a values-based, respectful, and mission-driven school environment.

$17-$19 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Responsibilities The Preschool Teacher Assistant will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, structured, warm, and engaging classroom environment for young children. Responsibilities include:
Assisting the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and activities Supporting students during lessons, centers, circle time, play, lunch, rest time, and transitions Supervising students on the playground and during indoor and outdoor activities Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment Assisting with classroom setup, materials, supplies, and end-of-day cleanup Supporting positive behavior, social development, and classroom expectations Helping with dismissal and student supervision throughout the day Following the lead teacher's direction and helping implement classroom procedures Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude Supporting the overall mission and culture of Torah Academy's preschool program All students are expected to be potty trained; however, the assistant should be comfortable helping children with age-appropriate self-care routines as needed. Parent communication is primarily handled by the lead teacher. Qualifications Preferred qualifications include:
Prior childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood experience A genuine love for young children Patience, warmth, reliability, and professionalism Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively as part of a team Strong supervision skills and awareness of student safety Positive attitude and willingness to support the needs of the classroom Comfort working in an Orthodox Jewish Day School environment Candidates must be willing to complete: DCF 45-hour training CPR/First Aid certification Background check and fingerprinting Any additional training required by the school or applicable regulations Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to actively supervise young children throughout the school day. Candidates should be able to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, assist children as needed, and participate in active indoor and outdoor supervision.
