Head Start Teacher Assistant Work Schedule:
M-F, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, 10 month position $15.84 / hour

Qualifications:
Age-appropriate Staff Credential Preferred Required Child care training (Parts
I & II - 40
hours) pursuant to Chapter 65C-22 Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training as required by DCF to complete at Orientation/within 30 days of hire 5 Hour VPK Emergent Literacy Course as required by DCF Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Must clear Department of Children and Families background screening requirements Must pass a physical
Teacher Assistant Essential Functions:
will assist the Lead Teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment and ratios, and supervising children; will assist the Lead Teacher with planning, recordkeeping and other classroom related duties as requested
Skills:
Ability to lift 45 lbs. from floor level and carry 75 feet several times a day Ability to get up and down from floor level throughout the day Flexible, resourceful and cooperative attitude; adapts positively to change Good communication skills Ability to establish and maintain warm, nurturing long-term relationships with young children and their families Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, subordinates and peers Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of low income families with young children Personal commitment to the healthy development of young children Good record-keeping skills (EOE / Drug Free Workplace) Our Agency is Required to Participate in the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
