Overview Join our vibrant educational team as an Afternoon Assistant Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. In this role, you will support lead teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities that promote early childhood development, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate lesson plans focused on literacy education, math, and overall curriculum development. Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children during afternoon hours. Engage children in activities that foster social skills, emotional regulation, and early childhood development milestones. Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges. Monitor children's behavior and implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions. Help facilitate communication between children and staff, ensuring clear understanding and respectful interactions. Support classroom routines such as snack time, nap time, and outdoor play to ensure smooth transitions throughout the afternoon. Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices. Experience with classroom experience or daycare settings, especially preschool or toddler care environments. Familiarity with special education strategies, Montessori methods, or private school curricula is a plus. Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math activities, and curriculum development techniques. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and children. Proven classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning atmosphere. Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities to support inclusive education. Knowledge of behavior management techniques suitable for young children.
