The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. This role involves working closely with children ages 15 months - 4 years old. You will be assisting in their overall development, and ensuring that educational standards are met within the Judaic principles in our Montessori-inspired environment.
Full-time Hours :
Monday 8:30-4:15pm, Tuesday - Thursdays 8:30- 4:00pm, Fridays 8:30-3:00pm Responsibilities Helps and supervises children during all activities Aids in preparation for group activities and materials for the classroom shelves Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom and playground are appropriately maintained Helps children with meal times, clean-up and toileting Helps with classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports Performs other duties as assigned Participates in Judaic practices within the school curriculum (prayers in song, blessings over food and read alouds) Skills Background in childcare with experience working with children under 6 years Proficient in behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among students Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and families Strong organizational skills to maintain an effective classroom environment
Qualifications:
Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position, including completion of 45 hours required by DCF Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality Highly professional and dependable Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management
