Position Summary The Teacher's Assistant (Achievement Specialist) supports students with developmental disabilities in a structured educational and transitional learning environment. This role assists with classroom activities, behavioral support, recreational and educational programming, daily living assistance, and maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere for students. Key Responsibilities Assist students during classroom, recreational, and educational activities Provide hand-over-hand assistance and support using adaptive equipment when needed Support children during transitions throughout the school day Encourage positive social interaction and developmentally appropriate communication Assist with feeding programs, toileting, diapering, lifting, positioning, and transfers Monitor student health and report concerns to the Site Coordinator Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and infection control standards Support behavioral management strategies in accordance with UCO guidelines Use electronic devices for attendance tracking and parent sign-in/sign-out Attend required trainings and monthly staff meetings Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous classroom or student support experience preferred Compassionate, patient, and team-oriented attitude Ability to work in an active classroom environment English proficiency preferred Schedule & Work Environment Full-Time In-person position
