This is a year-round full-time teaching position with flexibility to have summertime off. The work shift is 8:15a -3:45p, Monday to Friday with a pay rate of $18 - 20 depending on experience. You'll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, develop positive self-esteem and confidence, and support the growth and success of children.
What You'll Do:
Responsible for teaching groups of students while modifying existing curriculum on basic subjects to meet each student's learning requirements and build individual lesson plans tailored to their specific needs. Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth. Monitor children's behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict Collaborate with the support staff to create intervention plans Inform parents about their children's performance and potential problems What We Need from
You:
Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and/or National CDA required 1 - 2 years teaching experience (preferred) Must clear a full Level 2 background check First-Aid / CPR Certification required within 90 days of employment Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed Effective in communicating with both students and parents to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns Oak Ridge Children's Academy & Day Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
